WILD THINGS: TOPMODELS WITHOUT MAKE-UP

Casting Director Douglas Perrett has photographed almost all of today’s supermodels early in their career – without the usual layers of make-up. He has now made the book “Wild Things” which documents all of his favourites – from todays Victoria’s Secret Angels to the most-in-demand catwalk models.

“The book is a catalogue of my favourite go-sees from 2000 – 2010. Polaroids are a dated archiving system. Now everything is digital and laser prints, takes a little longer and is not as eye-pleasing”, Perrett says.

So who has made most impact on Perrett at a first meeting?
“I remember every face I meet. It’s a license to stare,” he said. “I’m appreciative to all the teenagers that make time to see me. The impact has already happened once they open the door and ask ‘is this the casting?’ The Wild Things most special to me are the forgotten ones: the models who never made it past one Fashion Week. I look up at my Polaroid board and ask myself, ‘I wonder what Autumn is up to, or did Carol ever finish high school?’”

The book is released on February 8 in a limited run of 250 for my clients and friends. A few are available for sale at Dashwood Books on Bond Street, New York. (Via)
